Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium)
Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium L.) a plant species of the genus Artemisia of the daisy family (Asteraceae) is a perennial, mostly herbaceous plant with a height of 40 to 60 cm, in rare cases up to 150 cm. Wormwood is found in temperate Eurasia, India, Morocco and Algeria and grows preferably on dry and sandy-toned soils near watercourses. Wormwood has been used as a medicinal plant since ancient times, as numerous effects have been attributed to it, such as the stimulation of appetite, digestion and help with headaches.
Wormwood is smoked for protection and to promote clairvoyance.
