Bay leaves (Laurus nobilis)
The true laurel (Laurus nobilis), a plant species within the laurel family (Lauraceae), is an evergreen shrub or tree and can reach heights of over 10 metres and is used as a medicinal and spice plant. Young and dried leaves are used in the kitchen as a spice.
When smoked, laurel promotes clairvoyance and was already smoked en masse in ancient Delphi for oracular purposes. It also provides protection and purification. Laurel can also be smoked for healing purposes.
