Athame made of wood, hand carved. As this item is handmade from wood, small differences in colour and shape are possible, making each piece unique.

A ritual dagger (athame) is not intended as a weapon, but has a purely symbolic function.
It is supposed to bundle and direct magical powers, it symbolises the element air and is used to demarcate a sacred place by drawing a circle with it.
Its place is in the east on the altar and it symbolises the intellect, the power of the mind.
The ritual dagger is used to invoke the guardians of the East and the power of thought.
A ritual dagger represents the god, or the masculine, while the chalice or cauldron represents the goddess, the feminine.
